Love to Others

Each one of us knows how many controversial issues derive from the love to others. There are thousands of religious beliefs that share something in common and is the love for other people. But that, in reality, is the love of the neighbor. Is it just another verse from the Bible? Not only is a Bible verse it is the first of the 10 Biblical commands. Leaving aside fundamentalism and based only on the feeling of empathy, solidarity, and compassion; We can argue that more than a dogma established by religions or the Bible is a feeling of a regime of life. From the birth of a child, our fibers of tenderness and sense of protection arise. It is not until we begin to grow and our environment, our home, community, school, and even churches begin to distort in us these feelings. By this I mean that it does not matter how much love is taught in a home to others; The same will not be effective but is accompanied by an example. Love for others is not selective if I like it or if I do not like it. The fact is that there may be differences between all but the ability to be able to not allow those differences to be greater or exceed my respect and tolerance towards other people for whatever reasons. There may be thousands of religious beliefs but none teach hatred; Only sick minds can misrepresent either adding or removing meaning to the love of others. There is no need to believe in any god or practice any faith to respect life and love our neighbors. It is a total fallacy to believe that I have to teach my children any faith to respect, appreciate and value the lives of others. It is called nature and it is in our being to learn to respect, to tolerate and to love others. For many years I grew up in a Protestant church and I can say that it looks the same as what is seen outside of it. I have seen parents raise their children in the churches and this does not make them better human beings; Even many are rejecting and marginalizing other people just because they do. We live in a world in which we must learn so much and observe many behaviors of our children to be able to correct them in time. As parents, we are responsible for that child who is becoming a young man and then suddenly he will be an adult. May the verse: “Love others as yourself,” not only to memorize it but rather to reflect on what truth implies and practice it daily to become our way of life.
